The Thailand Business Visa, also known as the Non-Immigrant B Visa, is issued to foreign nationals who intend to work, conduct business, or invest in Thailand. Holders of a Thai Business Visa must obtain a valid work permit before starting employment in Thailand.
This visa enables foreign professionals, executives, investors and business visitors to operate legally within Thailand's business environment.

Thailand Business Visa Requirements
The Non-Immigrant B Visa is issued to foreign nationals who wish to work, conduct business, or invest in Thailand. Below are the standard requirements for a Thailand Business Visa.
A passport with a validity of not less than 6 months.
Completed visa application form.
A recent passport-sized photograph (4 x 6 cm) of the applicant taken within the past 6 months.
Evidence of adequate finance:
20,000 THB per person
40,000 THB per family

Depending on whether they are applying for employment or business purposes, applicants must submit several documents. These typically include the standard requirements. Additional supporting documents may be required from the Thai employer or business partner.
Foreign nationals intending to work in Thailand must also obtain approval from the Ministry of Labour. As part of the work permit preparation process, the employer may be required to submit Form WP3.
In addition to the standard Non-Immigrant B visa, there are several related visa categories:
The B visa. Applicants must provide proof of their educational qualifications, a letter of acceptance from the school, and approval from the relevant education authorities.
The B-A Visa. The Thai company may apply on behalf of the applicant. Holders may stay in Thailand for up to one year from their first date of entry.
The IB Visa. These projects must contribute to Thailand’s economy by promoting exports, increasing employment, supporting regional development, or transferring technology.
Additional documents may be required depending on the applicant’s employment, business activity, or investment project. Corporate documents must usually be certified by an authorized company representative, such as a managing director or board member.
Applicants are generally required to submit their visa application in person at a Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate, and all supporting documents must be in Thai or English. Documents in other languages must be translated and notarized before submission.
Thailand Business Visa Process
1. Obtain a job offer or business sponsorship in Thailand and prepare the necessary documentation.
2. Apply for a Non-Immigrant B visa at a Royal Thai embassy or consulate (processing time varies by embassy, typically 2-10 working days).
3. Upon arrival in Thailand, the immigration authorities will grant an initial stay of 90 days.
4. Apply for a work permit at the Department of Employment (5-10 working days).
5. Apply for a 1-year extension of stay based on employment at the Immigration Bureau.
6. Apply for a re-entry permit before leaving Thailand to maintain visa status.
7. Extend the work permit when required.
